Forbidden Fruit - A Short Film

Zeek Burse explores complicated relationships in this love story to Philly entitled “Forbidden Fruit.”

This short film (40 minutes) will take viewers on a journey back to the Golden Era of Soul Music. Audiences will be transported to 1970’s Philadelphia, as Zeek Burse interprets 10, classic 70’s songs that signify Philly Soul Music during its heyday.

The story will unfold via a one-man show, captured on video during a live set, shot on location in Philadelphia. Featuring unforgettable songs by The Three Degrees, Major Harris, Billy Paul, Patti Labelle, The Intruders and more. Philadelphia's monumental contribution to the elevation of Soul Music, as an art form and cultural phenomenon, via Zeek’s exploration of their music and love, Philly Style.
